Following his thwarted attempt at joining CIPR North East as our keynote speaker talking on the \u2018Art and Science of Engagement\u2019<\/strong> at this year\u2019s Northern Conference event to cover President Trump\u2019s UK visit, we\u2019re delighted to announce that Kevin Maguire will be delivering his planned session to our members and non-members, at a special event in November this year.<\/p>\n

Kevin will be delivering a session drawing on his experience as the editor of a national newspaper and being a key media player, giving his thoughts on how the media landscape is changing; how the media does (and perhaps at times doesn\u2019t) engage people and influence their behaviours; how the media is using science (data) and art (creative ways of storytelling) to engage its audiences; and the media\u2019s place in a modern public relations strategy to engage an audience in the age of the rise of social media and brand journalism.<\/p>\n

An award-winning journalist, Kevin Maguire is a Daily Mirror associate editor and New Statesman columnist. He presents TV and radio programmes and is a regular guest on shows from Good Morning Britain and This Week to The Wright Stuff and Sky News. Kevin started out as a local newspaper and has worked for The Daily Telegraph and The Guardian. He co-authored a book on Great Parliamentary Scandals and has ghosted two political autobiographies. He’s also a visiting professor at Sunderland University.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
