Sarah is a Campaign Manager for Wood for Good<\/a>, which is the timber industry\u2019s campaign to promote the use of wood in design and construction. She studied the CIM Certificate in Professional Digital Marketing<\/a> from Glasgow, where she works to help develop their promotions and reach.<\/p>

Why did you choose this qualification?<\/strong><\/p>

I thought the CIM Digital Marketing qualification would provide me with formal recognition of my skill set and increase my confidence in my work.<\/p>

What did you discover about yourself in the<\/strong> process?<\/strong><\/p>

I\u2019m definitely a bit out of practice when it comes to revision and writing essays\/reports! But I loved learning about the analytical and data-driven side of marketing and communications.<\/p>

Has studying with nesma helped you in your career?<\/strong><\/p>

Yes, definitely, and I have already used some of the plans and research from my assignments in my work.<\/p>

What did you enjoy most about studying?<\/strong><\/p>

As I progressed through the course, I could relate the things I\u2019d learnt back to my everyday work and embed new thinking and ideas into what I\u2019m doing at Wood for Good.<\/p>

What type of things do you do differently now?<\/strong><\/p>

I start by researching and analysing before tackling campaign plans.<\/p>

What words of advice would you give anyone considering a career in marketing\/PR?<\/strong><\/p>

It\u2019s much more varied than you might imagine. You can specialise in so many different areas. Data and insights are just as important as creativity.<\/p>

What are the significant changes within your industry at present?<\/strong><\/p>

Public perception of forestry and timber in the UK is a challenge facing us just now and market constraints on timber products due to COVID and the current political and economic situation in Europe.<\/p>

What do you enjoy most when you aren\u2019t doing<\/strong> the day job?<\/strong><\/p>

I enjoy walking my dog, spending time with family and friends and playing netball or swimming.<\/p>
